Labor Day was created by the labor movement in the United States. In our early history, workers had few rights and were at the complete mercy of their employers. We have had many social and economic achievements as American workers because of all those that came before us. They paved the way for us to have some legal protections (no discrimination, a minimum wage, etc.) in the work force.
This day is a national tribute to teh contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country!
