Happy Easter

For those of you that are celebrating Easter, enjoy your day!

At 2:14 today, students will begin their Spring Break.  As this clip art shows, they are ready for some time off school!

It is my hope that everyone enjoys their time off and is able to relax and have a bit of fun!

Don't forget to come back to school on Monday, April 8th!

Passover Begins

At sundown today, the Jewish holiday of Passover begins.  Passover is an eight-day celebration of the freeing of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt.  On the first two nights, families will enjoy a Seder. This is a combination of traditions, rituals, and food.

3rd Quarter Ends

Today marks the end of our 3rd Quarter of the 2012-2013 school year!  It's difficult to believe that the year is almost finished, especially for the seniors.
Final grades will be due on Monday, so you will be able to check for final quarter grades in PowerTeacher then.
A final reminder that students must have two passing grades each semester in order to earn the half credit for the class.

Welcome Spring!

Spring arrives this Wednesday, March 20th.

Women's History Month

March is recognized as Women's History Month.  I cannot tell you how much has changed since my childhood, and gladly I think gender equality is something many of my students take for granted.

One of our science teachers, Mrs. Karbler, shared this book with me.  In Heroes for my Daughter, Brad Meltzer recognizes inspirational women.

For five bonus points, post a comment about a woman that has inspired you.  This can be someone famous or not-so-famous.  Just list the person and give us a quick explanation.  Post before school starts on Monday, March 11th for your extra credit!

Spring Conferences

On Thursday night, we will be holding our second evening of parent-teacher conferences.  While the teachers have requested conferences with certain parents, everyone is welcome to stop by.  Most teachers will be in their classroom and someone will be available to pass out schedules if needed.  I hope to see you Thursday, between 4 and 7 o'clock!
