Second Semester

Wow!  What a great feeling to know we've had a successful first half of our school year.  I hope everyone is excited to get back to work.

An Eventful Week

This week may contain some days off, but it still will be busy and eventful.

Monday and Tuesday are semester and final exams. Students in Psychology will be taking a test over Chapter 19, Types of Therapy. American Civics will take a test over both the Legislative and Judicial Branches. Computer Applications has already started their final, which is a PowerPoint presentation on their dream houses.

Wednesday and Thursday are Sophomore Career Days. Tenth graders from around the county will have the chance to visit two JVS programs. Hopefully they'll find one that they would like to attend next year. Our current JVS students will be in attendance one day to visit with the sophomores and they'll have the other day off of school.

Friday is a teachers' Inservice Day. We will be finishing up second quarter and first semester grades. We'll also have different meetings and possibly some workshops to attend.

So, despite students having two days off, it will still be a busy week!

Cash for Grades?

Parents have been paying their kids for good grades for a long time.  If you go to Chuck E. Cheese, they'll pay you in tokens!  Some schools, in an attempt to raise grades, have received private funds to reward students for earning high grades.

Dream Vacations

 One of my Christmas gifts was a trip to Las Vegas.  We're leaving next weekend for a short, but exciting trip.  If you could spend the weekend anywhere, where would you choose and why?  Leave a short comment for 5 bonus points.  You need to post your answer before Friday, January 14.
